Bavara's Massage Training

The training teaches you practical 'hands-on' experience in the strokes and techniques of Swedish Massage (seven classical movements), how to treat a client in a therapeutic way and the input of Meditation in the training will give an Holistic approach to the massage treatments.

You will be encouraged to develop your intuitive abilities, your sensitivity and awareness in touch.

The training will cover:

  • Understanding the relation between body-mind and emotions
  • Developing a caring and sensitive approach to the body and enhancing the quality of touch
  • Different strokes and techniques of massage and their application and benefits
  • Joint release
  • Working with the breath
  • Contra-indications to massage
  • Your own postural awareness
  • How to be confident and relaxed whilst giving a session
  • Intuition development
  • Different meditation techniques
  • How to set up a professional practice
  • Anatomy and Physiology as relevant to the requirements of ITEC (International Therapeutic Examination Council)
  • And much more !

During the period of the training you will be given home study in Anatomy and Physiology, practical massage assignments and case studies as part of the ITEC exam.

You will receive a Study Book and Manual from Bavara.

The first 7 weekends are focused on the ITEC diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and Full Body Massage.

The last 3 weekends we will go deeper into meditation and learn massage techniques from an Holistic approach which invites the body to relax deeply and let go of held tensions.

You as the therapist will get a deeper understanding of the relationship between body-mind, body-memory-emotions and letting go.

Through massage we invite the body, mind and emotions to relax deeply so that we can fall beyond personality, the ego.

We need to be very sensitive, fully aware and in a caring atmosphere, trust can grow and relaxation deepens.

Every day we spend some time on the theory of Anatomy and Physiology; we need this knowledge as a solid base.

Then we move on to practical 'hands-on' sessions, so that you practice the different strokes and massage techniques, shown first by Bavara. In the hands-on sessions you also learn how to be centred, how to remain aware and present each moment.

During the training we take regular time for sharing our experiences. We will also practice different meditation techniques, so that we can get a taste of meditation.

The number of students will be small enough to get a great deal of individual attention.

This training offers a big variety of massage techniques, meditations, exercises, relaxation techniques and we will have fun. It is all not that serious.

Sincere yes...serious no!
