MA Core Process Psychotherapy
Core process psychotherapy is rooted in awareness of the well being or brilliant sanity that is at the core of our being. Often that sense of well being is hidden by the habits of mind perception and behaviour that have grown up in response to early experience. These habits which once were helpful can interfere with dealing with the losses, or stresses of life, which without support can seem overwhelming. Psychotherapy offers understanding and help in accessing the inner strengths and well being that allow movement and change to take place.
This is often likened to a journey of inner exploration, facilitated by the therapist who offers you a clear space and encouragement to face difficulties and value yourself. This process of inner exploration and deepening of awareness can be intensely rewarding and unexpected.
In the last few years I have developed my work with people who have a history of complex trauma, and who wish to find a way of coming to a more comfortable place in their lives.
I come to this work with thirty years of experience in the helping professions, and of working with my own difficulties. I have a deep trust in the therapeutic process, and am supported by my family, my friends and my dog.
