I completed 4 years postgraduate Transactional Analysis training in 2004, at the Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Institute (CPTI) in Edinburgh, gaining a COSCA-recognised Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling. I went on to qualify as a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy).
Prior to starting my counselling and psychotherapy practice I worked for several years in business and the voluntary sector, promoting inclusion and working with individuals and groups in the fields of housing and community care.
I believe that a good therapeutic relationship can help us to recover our fundamental drive for health and fulfilment, and increase our awareness, spontaneity, sense of self-worth and capacity for intimacy. It can help us see our current relationships for what they are, develop them further, accept their limits and develop new ones.
I work with individuals and couples, adults and young people, offering confidential help to address your concerns. I bring to my work sensitivity, curiosity about the rich meanings in people’s stories, a joy in the exchange of ideas, and the excitement of discovery. I offer warmth, humour, and a love of diversity and the natural world.
I work in accordance with the guidelines and ethical codes of the Institute of Transactional Analysis (ITA) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and am in ongoing clinical supervision.
