Kinesiology

What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology is an effective, safe and gentle therapy. It identifies emotional, physical, nutritional, and spiritual needs, which are addressed using a wide range of balancing tools.

These tools can be from eastern techniques such as, acupressure, working on the meridian system, the 5 elements system, chakra balancing, or, western techniques eg site specific pressure points, emotional stress release tools, gait, brain co-ordination, massage, nutritional deficiencies and sensitivities to name but a few.

What can it help?

  • Increase energy and well being
  • Relax body and mind
  • Help motivation and direction
  • Relief from stress and identity triggers
  • Emotional and physical trauma
  • Improve sleep
  • Prevent illness
  • Relief from muscular aches and pains
  • Digestive problems
  • Headaches and neck pain
  • Nutritional deficiencies and intolerance
  • Environmental sensitivities
  • Brain function and co-ordination

How do you identify my needs?

Muscle testing and discussion are used, to help determine what emotional, physical and chemical factors are stressing your body, which in turn help identify your needs. In muscle testing a gentle amount of pressure is applied to specific muscles. For example, if a nutritional substance that stresses your body is brought close to you, you will find it difficult to hold the pressure applied. If the substance doesn’t stress your body, you will be able to hold the pressure applied to the muscle.

Why is this useful?

The founder of kinesiology, chiropractor, Dr Goodheart, discovered that certain muscles are related to a specific organs and acupuncture meridians. For example, your trapezius muscle is related to your stomach, and also the stomach meridian. By testing this muscle it can help identify if there are any imbalances in these areas.

What happens in a session?

The first session will last up to one and half hours, which allows for a full consultation and to become familiar with muscle testing. You are fully clothed during the treatment, which takes place on a massage table. Your comfort and needs are always a priority.
