SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling & Groupwork – a Cognitive Behavioural Approach
I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork.
CBT is a talking therapy and focuses largely on negative thinking and behaviours, and how they affect us in everyday life. We will work as a team to identify these unhelpful thinking styles and behaviours and together find a way to change them so that you can feel like yourself again, or a version of yourself you have always wanted to feel.
In order to get the most of out of therapy, you will set goals that we will work on achieving throughout our sessions. You will be equipped with tools that we will compile together throughout our sessions. These will help you to manage other difficulties you may come across in your life.
I have experience in working with a wide array of difficulties such as Anxiety, Depression/Low mood, Body image, Self-Harm, Stress and Thought processes varying from negative thoughts and worry to suicidal thoughts.
My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, warm and honest space for my clients to be able to open up and work towards their goals.
To ensure that my work is ethical and of a high standard, I am a member of the professional body BABCP and follow their code of good practice. I also receive monthly clinical supervision.
