There can be times in life when we all need support and it can be most helpful to invite the reflection and insight of a trained practitioner to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationships with others.
This process of reflection can lead to an exploration of how past experiences influence our present life and relationships. It is through counselling that it becomes possible to discover parts of ourselves that might otherwise be obscured.
This supportive relationship together with individual courage and resourcefulness make it possible to manage the inevitable stresses and strains of ordinary life. And this process may bring rise to change if appropriate.
As a counsellor I have 22 years experience in both the public and private sectors, supporting persons with a wide range of personal and sometimes complex issues including: Anxiety, loss, abuse, relationship issues, cultural issues, self-esteem, sexuality, stress, work related issues, depression and spirituality.
The foundation of my work is primarily psychodynamic and informed by my ongoing professional development. As a registered member of BACP I abide by their ethical framework.
