My training is in Relational Psychoanalysis, which is a form of talk therapy that foregrounds the importance of a safe, caring, structured relationship between counselor and client. Meetings are conducted face-to-face, at weekly or twice-weekly intervals.
Psychoanalytic talk therapy can be very helpful for a wide range of issues, from feelings of depression and anxiety, to confusion and worry about the direction of one’s life, to issues arising from a history of neglect and abuse. Discussing and working through one’s concerns, whatever they may be, however big or small they feel, with a dedicated, attentive, and caring professional can often have profound results. “Talking it out” can feel very good, and feeling understood can feel even better.
Psychoanalytic therapy works; in my practice I have had the privilege of seeing my clients’ lives improve dramatically: relationships change and deepen (and toxic ones become less so), careers improve or move in new directions, and the traumas of our past relinquish some of their painful holds on our psyches.
I have six years of experience working one-on-one with clients in office/clinic settings. I hold a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (New York City); a Master of Arts from New York University; and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University. I am insured in the United Kingdom by Howden UK Group Limited.
