Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art making and materials as its primary mode of expression and communication. Within the therapeutic relationship art is not used as diagnostic tool but as a medium to explore past and present experiences and relationships.
Clients do not need to have any previous experience or expertise in art.
Art therapists are Allied Health professionals and are required to register with the Health and Care Professions Council. Click on www.hcpc-uk.org for further details.
