I offer psychotherapy grounded in both Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches. At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for your inner wisdom. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and that you already hold within you the resources needed to navigate the challenges you are facing. At the same time, I recognise that we all encounter moments when we feel lost or disconnected from ourselves, and in those times, being held in a compassionate, safe space can help us reconnect with our inner strength and sense of direction. My intention is to provide you with such a space, a place where you can come home to yourself.
The psychodynamic aspect of my work reflects my understanding that our early relational experiences, particularly from childhood, shape the patterns we carry into our present relationships and ways of being. Together, we can gently explore how these patterns might show up in the therapeutic relationship, as a way of gaining insight into your wider relational world. Becoming aware of these patterns can offer valuable understanding about the roles they play in your life, whether they support or hinder you, and can open the door to greater choice and freedom in how you relate to yourself and others.
I’m also currently training in the Hakomi method, a mindfulness-based approach to psychotherapy that invites deeper awareness of our inner experience. If this way of working resonates with you, we can incorporate elements of Hakomi into our sessions. I also offer breathwork and conscious dance group work, as well as women’s circles. I believe these practices can be powerful adjuncts to individual therapeutic work. If you are interested, then you would be welcome to attend the group offerings and integrate this work with your individual therapy.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in the NHS for a decade as a medical doctor, including four years as a psychiatrist. Although I have now fully transitioned to psychotherapy—where I’ve found a professional path more aligned with my values—my medical background has given me extensive experience in supporting people through a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
I currently offer in person sessions at the Whole Works, and the option of online therapy.
